Sweet, Regency romance
MAID OF HONOR edition by Stephanie Lilley Literature Fiction eBooks
Three male friends travel to London together, vowing to remain unwed. A carriage accident leads to a night with an eccentric family during a medival party where the beautiful Alianora plays upon her psaltery and sings like an angel. Country bred, Ali wasn't looking forward to her own trip to London, but perhaps now she has something to look forward to. Unfortunately, her younger brother has incurred a few too many debts through grambling and Alianora is led to believe there is only one way to save him--unless a knight arrives in time to rescue her. It was a little hard for me to follow at times, but overall, I enjoyed the story. It was witty and ripe with romance, not smut. I liked both the hero and heroine as well as many side characters.Product details

MAID OF HONOR edition by Stephanie Lilley Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This isn't a bad story its just not that deep. I prefer most of my novels to have real depth. They are defiantly some humorous parts especially the bantering between the 3 best friends. Its has a great evil villain! But I still mostly had to force my self to finish the story. If I'm not very interested in a book I tend to be a "skimmer". lol
Regardless, its a story worth reading if you want a "light" read.
A beautiful woman has her own dreams to follow, but everything is placed on hold, because her brother is in trouble. Alianora comes up with a plan to help her brother, who is in dept from his careless gambling habits. How does she help him, and what does she find on her journey? The author delivers a witty romance, set in London, with colorful characters who come to life. Interesting, funny, and love is in the air. Enjoyable read and Highly Recommended!
I really loved this book, easy reading love story, good guy, bad guy, heroin all the makings of a good love story.
Good Story!
I enjoyed reading this although at the beginning it started out quite dull. I have to admit I started this book sometime in March but because it not pull me in I stopped. I am glad I did go back to it because I liked it. The story line was good but the writing lacked substance. I wanted to feel the pain Alianora must have felt. I read about but didn't feel it. The struggle she must have felt when choosing Lord Savernake instead of the man she loved Lord Cerestone. The fighting that took place between these men was the same I read about it but didn't see it in my mind's eye. I have a vivid imagination when I read I am there feeling, and experiencing what the characters feel. For instance, someone can be describing something into great detail and I am either crying, gagging, or horrified. So when I draw or paint I need to feel whatever the subject is if not my work doesn't express what I intended it to.
Very good story. Hero is a bit different from the norm in this cute and believable tale. Liked that there were no duels in the story, and that the villain got the girl he should have from the start. The author also confessed the hero's family and the lady's family as true background characters, but they too were real to the timeframe. Also loved the birds woven into the tale. This was also relative to the time. Will read this author again!/Stephanie
What an original regency! The medieval theme was new, refreshing, and neat. I wish there had been more explanation on everyone's histories, especially Alianora's family. In fact, I wish the entire story had been longer and more drawn out. It was more tantalizing than satisfying, although thoroughly enjoyable. I really liked the lead couple. The secondaries were cute but needed a little more fleshing out as did the villains. An unusual take on a regency but an excellent one. Highly recommended for all Regency Romance lovers.
I read the story some time after downloading it and had long forgotten the description, so I was expecting a Regency romance between the lord of the manor and the household help. I was pleasantly surprised by my error. The story is squeaky clean and I love the idea of a wrestling historian fighting for his lady. I would love to see additional books, perhaps picking up with the marriage of Buck and Georgy, following the further adventures of this wonderful group of friends and their families as they grow.
