I am not a big one for science fiction and I loved this story! Fast paced plot no drawing things out great characters to love and despise. Perfect blend of fictional story telling with enough science fiction to make u contemplate the what it's. Loved the storylines. So many great villians to hate on while getting a good chuckle out of the crazy cat lady neighbor. Recommend highly.

I bought this book on a whim after coming across this author on Twitter. I wasn't sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading it. Lost some sleep, but that's okay. The characters were both lovable and hateable. This book had a lot going on and totally kept me guessing throughout as to what was going to happen! I will read this author again and would reccommend this book. Wouldn't mind if the pups in this book showed up again somewhere down the line!

I downloaded this book just a couple of days ago as part of a promotion. The newsletter that followed was extremely eloquent and I decided to read it right away instead of putting it at the end of the list. I'm glad I did because he really lived up to my reading standards. Just a handful of small errors found and the literary talent,word usage, descriptions, literary allusions, wonderful storytelling skills and other positive qualities made me glad that jumped it to the head if the line. I'm going to recommend it to friends and look into his other writings.Product details

I need to start off by saying how much I enjoyed this book. However, there were somethings in it that detracted from my enjoyment. While I applaud Gabriel Bevers for using a Marine for a character, there were some majorly wrong things that character said. First off, the rank. It was some ridiculous made up rank like Captain Major or Lieutenant Major, I forget which. This is not a real rank. A quick search on Google would have shown the correct officer rankings. Plus, Casper is frequently referred, both by himself and others, as a "soldier". This is incorrect. A Marine would never refer to himself as a "soldier". A soldier is in the Army. Possible titles Casper could have referred to himself as are Marine or Devil Dog.
That being said, the book was very enjoyable. The attitude of the pissed off Marine was spot-on. I would like to read more of this particular story line. The author certainly left plenty of room for more books.
Source for USMC ranks I was a Marine for 5 years, 2006-2011. I served in Okinawa, Iraq, and Camp Lejeune, NC. Got out as an E-4, or a Corporal.
This book is classified sci-fi/supernatural which is not my usual read. This is a great story, a believable family, an never a chance to be bored. You will be sucked into this story, and if you are a pet owner, the vacuum will be even more intense. This book is a must read. It will steal your heart. Love it!
It was filled with supernatural dealings, monsters, mobsters, Big cats, and dogs.
The main character, Casper, wasn't entirely likeable but he wasn't suppose to be. There were some things left unexplained, like where the heck did the dogs come from? You hated the bad guys, rooted for the good guys, and felt sorry for the players that just got caught up in the evil going down. It takes good writing to get you to feel all that for characters written on a page.
I just finished this book and have to say it was an entertaining read. There was a supernatural element and a great suspense element to it. I must say that when I first started reading this book I thought it was two completely separate stories, but the more I read the more it became clear it was one story like two trains on the same track heading to meet each other. The characters were likeable on the good guys side and the bad guys were truly bad. It maybe me but the character of Patrick McTreaty reminded me of Michael Clark Duncan. The only problem I had with this book was about two or three typos, but they didn't take away from the story or slowly it down. As for the three dogs I can't say very much just that they play a key role in the story. As for the Marine, Casper Brown, just a dad looking out for his family and friends.
I DON'T USALLY READ THIS TYPE OF BOOK, BUT IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!! IT GAVE USE SOME DOGS THAT CAN BACK TO PROTECT THE FAMILY THAT THEY HAD SAVED THEM. IF YOU WANT A BOOK WITH A PLACE IN THE TREES THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN AND A CAT ZOO TAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE AT READ THIS BOOK. I GOT THIS BOOK FREE FROM A FREE SITE, PLEASE ALLOW THIS REVEIW TO STAY. This story is fantastic. The storyline and characters are brilliant. I just couldn't put it down. It kept me entertained from first page till last. The suspense was so intense that you find yourself actually holding your breath waiting to find out what happens next. It is so well written that you could be watching a film on the big screen. If you like horror and suspense then this is a must for you.
I have had this on my kindle a very short time before iread. I did not know what to expect.As we all know some times it can be hit or miss. For me it was a definite hit.That being said I did feel unsure how it would pull together. It is kind of a different story for me, but it worked. Worth checking out. I will check out some of Gabriel Beyers other stories. I hope I get more of the same, difinetly would love to see a spin of the dogs.
